So, here we are. 2012 is over. It’s been a strange year for The Bad Things, to say the least.

We opened the year with a great show at The Comet, played on TV, visited our buddy Danbert Nobacon in Twisp for his 50th birthday, lost our practice space and thousands of dollars worth of equipment in a fire, had a busy and inspiring Folklife weekend and Punk As Folk showcase featuring, amongst other incredible acts, the last live performance of God’s Favorite Beefcake.

The week that followed was one of the worst weeks ever experienced within our Seattle artistic community, but, somehow, in the middle of it all, Mad Wilcox had an amazing marriage ceremony, lifting our spirits for a night. That beautiful night was followed by a month of fundraising shows, playing through multiple tears and multiple beers, and remembering our lost friends. Continue reading

Podcast Tonight. Show Friday! #SporkestraBadThingsEbola

Well, life is certainly different now that we’re big TV stars. We can barely walk down the street without being mobbed. It’s crazy!

Not really but we can dream can’t we? If you missed the show, you can watch the highlights online. Here’s us doing Georgia Lee Is Dead. And, here we are premièring our new song Not Tonight. And here’s the whole darn show.

Tonight at 7pm, we’ll also be featured on the online radio station 1337ology Radio courtesy of our buddy Josh Black AKA Ronald McFondle’s brand new podcast Reversible Battlemat. This is their debut show and Josh will feature a musical act every week. We’re honored to be featured on their grand debut. Remember, that’s tonight, Tuesday, April 3rd at 7pm PST.

Then, of course, this Friday, we’ll be causing havoc and getting rowdy with our buddies Titanium Sporkestra at the Columbia City Theater.

Quite a week for us Bad Things!

Coming Up! TV and a Sporkestra/Ebola Extravaganza.

Thanks to all that came out to the Columbia City Theater on Sunday night. A good time was had by all.

The Bad Thing’s next public appearance will be a live television broadcast! That’s right, good ‘ol live Bad Things action beaming right into your living room. I get tingles just thinking about it. Our television debut will air on Friday, March 30th at 8pm on the Seattle Channel (Channel 21) as part of Art Zone with Nancy Guppy. We’ll be performing one brand new song and one Bad Things classic. The episode will also be re-broadcast throughout the following week so check out the schedule and find a time that’s convenient for you.

After that, on Friday, April 6th, we’ll return to the Columbia City Theater with the great Titanium Sporkestra headlining and Oakland’s legendary Bobby Joe Ebola and the Children MacNuggets opening. This is a dream lineup for a Friday night and a good opportunity to engage in questionable behavior in a non-judgmental atmosphere. Hey, what happens in Columbia City, stays in Columbia City. We promise.

You can pick up tickets from Brown Paper Tickets right over here. I recommend picking them up in advance as this will be a packed show.

Here’s a little preview of Bobby Ebola’s classic “Life Is Excellent.”
