Contribute Now! Only Two Weeks Left.

So, we’re heading into the last two weeks of our Fire Fundraising Campaign on IndieGoGo and we’re pretty far from our goal. We still have lots of equipment to replace and an upcoming release on the horizon so we still need all the help we can get. In an effort to encourage more folks to contribute we are offering a couple great incentives.

First one is for our fans and supporters in the great city of New Orleans. Our friends in Freaksheaux to Geaux, a musical, vaudevillian, circus, magic, burlesque show have offered to help out by offering guest list spots to any NOLA-based or NOLA bound Bad Things fan who contributes to the IndieGoGo campaign. All you have to do is e-mail freaksheaux@gmail.com after you contribute and they’ll add you to the list of the show of your choice. Their upcoming show on Friday, October 26th will feature Bad Things co-conspirator La Petite Mort and dear friend Eliza Rickman. Here’s their list of other Coming Attractions and below is a little taste of their incredible show.

For all you Seattle based fans, we are offering seriously discounted tickets to our Halloween show, the 9th Annual Cabaret Macabre for all IndieGoGo contributors. How that will work is, once you contribute to the campaign, we will send you a discount code that you will enter on the ticket page to reveal the secret discounted price. This is only available until September 26th, when the campaign ends so get yours today. You can pick up tickets right over here.

And, to everyone that’s contributed so far, we love you and can’t express our appreciation enough.

Toy Pianos, Accordions and Drunken Revelry!

On Sunday, March 11, 2012, The Columbia City Theater will host an eclectic evening featuring Seattle’s The Bad Things, Bay Area chanteuse Eliza Rickman and the Toy-Box Trio. Each of these artists has recently gain notoriety in the neo-cabaret and steampunk communities but labeling them as “steampunk” is doing each a serious disservice. Their music transcends overnight trends, infused with a hard-won authenticity that’s hard to find amongst the goggle and corset set. Continue reading

Coming Up in March! The Bad Things with Eliza Rickman and Toy Box Trio!

We’re proud to announce another upcoming show on March 11 with Eliza Rickman and Toy Box Trio. It’ll all take place within the swanky confines of The Columbia  City Theater. Check out Eliza’s video for her song “Cinnamon Bone.” Simply gorgeous.

Thanks for 8 Years of Cabaret Macabre!

Thanks to everyone that came out to Cabaret Macabre’s 8th year. We had a blast. As usual, the lineup was amazing: from the sultry, distinguished sounds of Eliza Rickman; to the briliant junkyard cacophony that is the Pretzelmen; to the sheer Grampy-ness of Baby Gramps and his co-horts; to the beauty and grace provided by all the dancers; to the sassy tongue of MC Diva Le Deviant; and finally to the sloppy drunken mess that is The Bad Things, a good time was had by all. Check us out in our cartoon-inspired costumes. We got old “Speed Racer” Panto there on the left, of course “Beeker” Hogan, “Popeye” the Pickpocket, “Mario” the Gypsy, “Mad Wilcox” as, well, Mad Wilcox and Steve “George Jetson” Kamke bringing up the right hand side. Sheer genius! Or, at least, better than last year. Thanks Columbia City Theater for having us and our crazy friends. Continue reading
