2026 is already kicking off with a bang. The new album is done and we’ll start sharing recordings over the next few months in anticipation of the album’s release. It all kicks off tonight on Portland’s Shady Pines Radio who will be playing the first single “Glamorous Gutter” on their Nocturnal Submissions show. The show starts at 8pm, so tune in. We’re so excited to share this song with the world. Hard to call it new since it was probably first played by the band 12 years ago, but now it’s been documented for eternity, and it’s a doozy. Fans will surely recognize it from our live shows.

Also, this afternoon in Seattle, The Bad Things trio will be playing in Ballard as part of our friend Crooked Note‘s monthly showcase. Also on the bill are Crooked Notes, Rio Devore, and XYLO the Sponge. It’s at Old Stove Gardens and is all ages and free! Best of all, the whole thing is over by 7pm. Perfect for us old folks. Music starts at 4pm and we are last. This will be the accordion, upright bass and banjo version of the band and we got a hell of a set for you.

Finally, in a couple more weeks, on Saturday, February 14 Valentine’s Day will be upon us and we are hosting a special Degenerate Valentines Cabaret at White Center’s live music hub Tim’s Tavern. DJ Pickpocket will be spinning 45s of punk, new wave, rockabilly, classic country, ska, reggae, Northern Soul, lounge and 60’s girl group love songs. Then the incredible Pike Place buskers The Party Cats will be doing your favorite 60s/70s/80s and 90s radio hits on accordion and violin. Our beloved Jenny Penny will do some burlesque and then we will be doing a one hour set of all our love songs. Some we haven’t played in years. The set will also include covers by The Cure, Ernest Tubb, Leonard Cohen, The Pogues and Circus Contraption/Gods Favorite Beefcake. Jenny Penny will then do more burlesque and we’ll finish the night off with 30 minutes of Bad Things classics. There’s currently 50 tickets with a $10 off discount code.
